Wendy Markell

HI. MY NAME IS WENDY MARKELL I WAS BORN IN 1971. I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH STILLS IN FEBRUARY 1989. I WAS ALWAYS VERY HEALTHY AND NEVER EVEN SO MUCH AS BROKE A BONE. I AM A MOTHER OF 2 GIRLS 5AND 8. I LIVE IN BALTIMORE MD. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A VERY ACTIVE PERSON AND WHEN I BECAME ILL AND IN THE HOSPITAL I WAS SCARED TERRIBLY. AT THAT TIME I WAS ON 80MG PREDNISOLE DAILY 2000 MG OF NAPROSYN DAILY CARAFATE AND ZANTAC AND ALSO 500 TO 1000MG OF TYLOX DAILY. AFTER 5 YEARS OF MEDICATION I BECAME PREGNANT WITH MY FIRST CHILD I THREW AWAY THE TYLOX AND THE PREDNISOLE AND DECIDED TO FIGHT . SO I STARTED WAITING TABLES WHICH I HAD DONE PREVIOUSLY FOR A FEW YEARS AND I GOT STRONGER. EVERYONE AROUND ME TOLD ME I NEEDED TO SLOW DOWN AND REST. BUT I REFUSED. WHICH OF COURSE UPSET MY RHEUMATOLIGIST. I AM NOW A MANAGER FOR A RESTRAUNT I WORK 50 HOURS PER WEEK AND I AM FEELING QUITE WELL. OCCATIONALLY A 800 MG MOTRIN COMES IN NEED ESPECIALLY IN THE WINTER TIME. OR WHEN MY STUBBORNESS MAKES ME OVER DUE MY OWN BOUNDRIES. BUT ONE THING I DID LEARN IS THE MORE ACTIVE YOU ARE THE MORE STRENTH YOUR JOINTS GET AND MORE STRONG YOU GET. NEVER LET ANYONE TELL YOU THAT YOU CANT DO SOMETHING BECAUCE YOU CAN.THANKS           WENDY
